Dig a Little Deeper

Hello, again! First off, I want to start by saying that if you enjoy reading this blog, feel free to subscribe to get notifications about new posts. That way if we don't post about it on social media, you won't miss anything!

Second, today's post is going to be on Princess and the Frog. Or more specifically the song "Dig a Little Deeper." I love this song, and its upbeat, catchy tune. The lyrics are great as well. Before I tell you how this song could pertain to God or the Bible, you can listen to it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lkyqLhLXQ4

As we go into the holiday season, we find that there are tons of things we want. Even if that thing is just the ability to give more to others. Some can't wait to get gifts for themselves, others are struggling with huge lists of things they plan on buying for their loved ones. And then there are people only concerned with earning themselves more money. While none of these things are bad in moderation, the Bible has a thing to say about earthly possessions. Mathew 6:19-21 says, "19 Don’t store up treasures on earth! Moths and rust can destroy them, and thieves can break in and steal them. 20 Instead, store up your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy them, and thieves cannot break in and steal them. 21 Your heart will always be where your treasure is." Wanting things for yourselves and others isn't a bad thing, but stuff like that isn't going to last forever.

And, while we are on earth there are things we need verses things we want. We need food and water, we want phones, tvs, and internet. But more than any of those things we need a close relationship with Jesus. He wants us to seek Him before we do anything else. Psalms 37:4, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." This isn't to say that if you seek after God, He'll give you the latest Iphone in return. What it does mean is that when you seek after God, He will take care of your needs and you won't need to worry. But just like at the end of the video, make sure you listen carefully to what God is telling you and you don't get what you need mixed up in your own plans.

Next up I'll be discussing a couple other Disney songs, so if you're interested, don't forget to subscribe!
